Women Veterans for the Land InternBiography
Ta’ Neshia is an Air Force veteran and entrepreneur from the PNW with more than a decade of experience coordinating processes and people. She specializes in outreach and engagement to establish, promote, and coordinate collaborative partnerships in the community.
Ta’ Neshia is working to develop and build relationships with a diverse network of organizations that serve women veterans and women in agriculture. She will explore veteran serving institutions in Oregon on the city, county, and state levels to support and engage with our Women Veterans for the Land programming.
She earned her B.S. in Human Services and is currently earning her Master Beekeeper Certificate with Oregon State University. During her service with the Air Force as a dental assistant, she effectively fought the war on plaque earning her a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
During her childhood, she spent summers in Sacramento with the distinct smell of the rice fields. Sacramento feeds people nationally and globally, even still Ta’ Neshia suffered food insecurities throughout her childhood. She is deeply committed to providing organic fruits and vegetables to low-income families.
A core value for Ta’ Neshia is service to others, creating strong relationships is the foundation of everything she does because of the help she has received from others throughout her life. When you have space and land to grow it allows communities to become self-sustainable, and as an aspiring farmer, she knows that working with your hands in nature provides peace and healing.
Her goal is to help and inspire other women veterans to achieve self-sufficiency and sustainability through agriculture. Building future generations to protect, preserve, and enrich farmland with innovative advancements is essential.
